How We Teach

Learning Through Curiosity, Creativity & Care

Our curriculum nurtures children’s natural curiosity, creativity, and emotional growth. We offer a wide range of hands-on learning experiences that help children discover their strengths and develop their interests — all in a safe, supportive environment.

At St Peter Chanel Nursery & Pre-School, we follow an exciting, child-led curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our goal is to support every child’s learning and development, ensuring they are healthy, happy, and ready for school.

EYFS Areas of Learning

We follow the EYFS Development Matters guidance, which includes seven areas of learning. These are divided into prime areas and specific areas. These areas are explained below:

Supporting Children With Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

We provide an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children can access our curriculum and reach their full potential. Our team is experienced in supporting a range of additional needs and works closely with families, health visitors, and external professionals where needed.

We follow the SEND Code of Practice, and our provision is tailored to each child’s individual needs through early identification, targeted strategies, and a focus on wellbeing.
